    Meg Akehi is a former Athletes in Action staff member currently pursuing a PhD in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education at Michigan State University. She played volleyball at the University of Michigan. Yes, she can cheer for MSU while still being loyal to her UofM roots. As most doctoral students, she spends a lot of time reading, writing and coffee-ing.

    Ann R. Albin is a proud Purdue grad and a witty mom of three boys, who passionately enjoys encouraging others to grow. A career HR director, Ann now utilizes that experience to enthusiastically encourage others via speaking, teaching, writing, and meeting for really good coffee.   • Malinda Allen
    Malinda Allen is originally from Memphis, TN. She played on the Duke University soccer team and played on the women’s soccer team for 5 years. She finished undergrad in May 2017, but because of redshirting her sophomore year, was granted an extra year of eligibility which she used to complete a Master of Management at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. She currently lives in Dublin, Ireland, playing for Shelbourne Ladies FC.
  • Corwin Anthony
    Corwin Anthony played tight end for UCLA in the late 1980's and graduated with an economics degree in 1991. After a brief stint in the NFL with the LA Rams, Jets & Packers, he joined the staff of Promise Keepers and served by helping churches in the Midwest region build and strengthen their men’s ministries. In 2000, Corwin and his wife, Kim, joined the staff of Athletes in Action to serve as chaplains for the Miami Dolphins. In 2007 Corwin became the Executive Director of Pro Ministries giving oversight to the entire team of staff serving as NFL chaplains. Corwin and Kim have been married since 1992 and have two adult sons.
  • Rachel Marie Brooks Atkins
    Rachel Marie Brooks Atkins is an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Sixers and Phillies fan. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband Jason (who unfortunately roots for the NY Giants, Knicks and Mets) and their son James. Rachel is a doctoral candidate at The New School pursuing a PhD in Public and Urban Policy.

    Holly Bates is a local team leader with Athletes in Action in Houston and have been investing in college students for seven years. She's passionate about learning about different cultures, helping women identify their worth in Christ, and making Jesus known. She and her husband live in Houston with their four-month-old son, Isaiah.

    Rasool Berry is a Campus Pastor at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. He's a life-long Philly sports fan and self-proclaimed armchair quarterback. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Tamica and their daughter Ire'Ana.

    Mason Blevins is new staff with Athletes in Action Track and Field. He graduated from Morehead State University in 2018 where he ran cross country and track. He still enjoys running and training for marathons, but has started to enjoy cycling as well. He lives in Xenia, OH.
  • Tony Cammarota
    Tony Cammarota has enjoyed playing sports his whole life. He played soccer as a kid 35 years ago and now enjoys watching his kids, run, jump, kick, shoot, flip and dance. He enjoys shooting hoops in the driveway and competing in triathlons. As an Ironman Texas finisher, he loves to swim, bike, and run when he isn't spending time with his wife, Dorianne and his four kids. He earned a B.A. from University of North Texas and a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theology Seminary and now works as an associate pastor at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, TX.     LaMorris serve as the team chaplains to the Cincinnati Bengals. He has a passion for preaching, communicating clearly and effectively the Word of God by sharing with others how God can also do an incredible work in their lives. LaMorris and his wife Megan have four beautiful children.
  • Del Duduit
    Del Duduit is an award-winning freelance writer and author who lives in Lucasville, Ohio. He has won two Associated Press sports writing awards and one Ohio Prep Sports Writing Award, one for an interview with Boston Celtic legend Larry Bird. He was recently named Outstanding Author at the Ohio Christian Writers Conference and won two other awards. A co-editor of Southern Ohio Christian Voice, he has been published in Focus on the Family’s Clubhouse Magazine, Sports Spectrum Magazine, Toddstarnes.com, thesportscolumn.com, PM Magazine, and Bridges Magazine, and he will be the faith and inspirational writer for The Christian View Magazine. He blogs every Tuesday on delduduit.com, and his book Buckeye Believers; a 40-day devotional for the Ohio State Faithful, is due to be released in Spring 2018. He graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors in Business Administration, and currently works as an electrician in his family’s business, Dunham Electric. Chris desires to combine his passion for sports and writing to glorify God and help others.

    Matt Dunn has served in a variety of capacities with Athletes in Action since 2007 and enjoys the unifying platform that sport provides. He currently resides with his wife in the Dayton, OH area where he serves as a staff member with a local church, contributor to a variety of publications, and is a co-founder of EDR Marketing--a sports marketing firm (www.edrmarketing.com).     Peter was a long jumper/triple jumper UC Irvine until graduating in 2007. He now serves as the AIA Campus Director at Arizona State University. Raised in San Diego, he nevertheless aligns with Florida Gator football.

    Jodi Hasbrouck has worked with Athletes in Action Track and Field since 2007. She pole vaulted at St. Cloud State University and now lives with her husband and daughter in the Denver area. Her passion is to encourage people to be who God created them to be.

    Chealsea Hayes was a track and field athlete at the University of Alabama. She lives in Lafayette, LA where she works from home as a real estate investor and currently undergoing life coaching certification to further serve in the growth and development of those God leads to her. She and her husband, Korey have two beautiful daughters, Halo and Naví.

    Mark Householder has worked with Athletes in Action for 34 years in a variety of leadership roles and currently serves as President. He played football at the University of Cincinnati from 1979-1982. He and his wife Marianne have three adult children.
  • Chaz Howard
    The Rev. Charles L. Howard, PhD is the University Chaplain at the University of Pennsylvania, his alma mater. Prior to his return to Penn, he served as a chaplain in hospice and hospital and as a street outreach worker to individuals experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. His writing has been featured in such publications as Black Arts Quarterly, Black Theology: An International Journal, Daily Good, Urban Cusp, Sojourners Magazine, Christianity Today’s Leadership Journal, Chronicle of Higher Education, The Huffington Post, and Slate. He is the author of The Souls of Poor Folk,The Awe and The Awful, Black Theology as Mass Movement, and most recently Pond River Ocean Rain.. He shares life with his beloved wife, Dr. Lia C.     Brittney Jackson currently serves as an intern with the Athletes in Action Wisconsin team. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Science from Grand Valley State University, where she also competed as a sprinter on the track and field team. She is a big Cavs fan and loves doing Crossfit, baking and movies.
  • Bryce Johnson
    Bryce is the founder and president of UNPACKIN’ it Ministries. The mission of the ministry is to challenge, encourage, and inspire sports fans to follow Jesus and become more like Him. They use sports conversations that lead to faith conversations through media, resources, events and small groups. Bryce hosts the nationally syndicated sports and faith radio show UNPACKIN’ it, writes a weekday email devotional for sports fans called 'UNPACK this', and is a speaker and emcee based in Charlotte, NC.   • Phillip Kelley
    Phillip Kelley serves as chaplain for the Kansas City Chiefs. He left a baseball scholarship to pastor a church at age 19 and has since authored a book called Divine Disturbance: Broken to Build. He and his wife Frances have two daughters. Find more at PhillipKelley.net.

    Daniel J. Kiewel has a BA in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University with a minor in Political Science. He works as a graphic artist, paginator, and faith-based columnist for the Great Bend (KS) Tribune. He is a distance runner, two-time marathon finisher, and has worked as an adult distance running coach. He wrote the self-published daily devotional, Strong to the Finish: A 50-Day Devotional for the Marathon of REAL Life..     Alison McCutcheon is AIA staff at Oklahoma State. She played softball at the University of Arizona where she was a 2-time PAC-10 player of the year, 3-time 1st Team All-American and was part of 2 national championship teams. She married her college sweetheart, Ian, and has 3 children..
  • Quinn McDowell
    Quinn McDowell is the assistant men's basketball coach at Taylor University. He played basketball at William and Mary before graduating in 2012 with a B.A. in Religious Studies. He and his wife Lindsey spent four years overseas pursuing a career in professional basketball while continuing to write on the topics of leadership, team-building, and personal development.   • Leon McKenzie
    Leon McKenzie is a pastor at Redeemer Community Church in Atlanta. Pastor Mac is also the founder and clinical director of the Brighter Day Counseling Clinic, which serves to provide affordable professional mental health counseling to members of his church and surrounding communities. He graduated from Emmanuel College with a B.A. in Christian Ministries and is currently completing his M.A. in Biblical Studies with a distinction in mental health counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. He and his bride, Nichole, live in West Atlanta and share a heart for Gospel ministry to the underserved.
  • Mo Michalski
    Coach Mo began working full-time with AIA in 2004 after 25 years of coaching basketball at various levels. His court success includes multiple state championships and Coach of the Year honors. More than 25 of his former players have become basketball coaches or pastors around the world. Coach Mo has invested his life in coaches and players across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East. He currently serves as chaplain/life coach to USA Basketball’s Senior National Team, the team which currently represents our country in the Olympics and FIBA Basketball’s World Cup, as well as numerous other NBA players and coaches. He holds advanced degrees in History and Teaching with doctoral degree work done in both Education and Sport Ethics from Rutgers University and Oxford Graduate School. He and his wife Kelly live in Xenia, OH, and have five adult children.

    Jim Mitchell lives in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife Lisa. They have been married 24 years and have two children, Grace and Evan. Jim is the Director of Multimedia Content at FamilyLife where he has worked since 2006. Prior to FamilyLIfe Jim served as a pastor in his hometown near Fort Worth, Texas. He is a 1997 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary.

    Reid S. Monaghan (@reidSmonaghan)is the founder of Power of Change, a non-profit organization which exists to serve the church to impact and influence emerging post-Christian generations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is also active in the assessment and the coaching of church planters with the Acts 29 Network. Reid served 8 years with the ministry of Athletes in Action. He wrestled in college at the University of North Carolina, where his wife Kasey played soccer. They have three children.

    John O'Sullivan started the Changing the Game Project in 2012 after two decades as a soccer player and coach on the youth, high school, college and professional level.     Robyn Oakley is a Springfield, PA native currently residing in Pittsburgh, PA working at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a former track and field athlete and graduated in 2013 from the University of South Florida where she was involved with AIA. Since then she has gone on to receive her master’s degree from Saint Francis University, PA and has held various roles within student ministry and college athletics—whether volunteer or otherwise.
  • Holly Page
    Holly Page is the Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes Women’s Ministry Coordinator. She is a former collegiate basketball athlete and graduate of Indiana University. For the past 30 years she has coached basketball at various levels. She has a Master’s degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin and is a published author. Holly loves cross-cultural missions and partners with Hoops for Hope International in short term overseas sports ministry. She and her husband Rob have four grown children and two grand-children.
  • Tom Petersburg
    Tom Petersburg and his wife JoAnne served with Cru's campus ministry for 8 years before transferring to AIA/Pro Sports in 1979. They ministered to the professional sports teams in Cleveland, including the Browns (30 years), Indians (24), Cavaliers (18) and IHL hockey (5). Tom is currently developing Catapult Ministries, focusing on equipping disciplers and influencers, writing discipleship materials and training new AIA/NFL chaplains (www.catapultministries.org).

    Joel Pfahler is a staff member with Athletes in Action and has a degree in broadcasting and digital media.     Barnabas Piper is the author of three books - The Pastors Kid, Help My Unbelief, and The Curious Christian.     Michael Porter Senior is an assistant men's basketball coach for the University of Missouri. He played basketball and graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1989. After college, he played with AIA for seven years. He and his wife, Lisa, have eight children, four of whom have played on the men's and women's basketball team at the University of Missouri.

    Pat Richie is a Principal Consultant with Table Group Consulting, a Patrick Lencioni company. Pat consults with mid-size to Fortune 500 companies on the use and application of the models found in Lencioni’s best-selling books such as The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

    In addition, Pat brings tailored methods and expertise for these models to Professional and College Sports leaders and teams.

    Formerly Pat was the Pro Sports Director of Athletes in Action in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he was also team chaplain of the San Francisco Giants, the San Jose Sharks of the NHL, and Stanford University, prior to that the University of Notre Dame.

    Pat is honored to have been awarded multiple Super Bowl rings in appreciation for his contribution to the San Francisco 49’ers Super Bowl Championships as the team chaplain.     Michael Ruamthong is a Master of Divinity student at Bethlehem College & Seminary. He played tennis at the College of William & Mary where he graduated with a B.A. in Religious Studies.   • Leslie Ruffalo
    Leslie Ruffalo is an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. She and her husband, Andy, live in Cedarburg, WI. Leslie competed for the Wisconsin Badgers in both Cross Country and Track. She and Andy enjoy running together, traveling, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. The Ruffalo’s are Badger fans, but have a split NFL and MLB household. Leslie is a lifetime Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan; Andy roots for the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Despite sports alliances, they are happily approaching two years of marriage.

    Naomi Rust is an athletic training intern with Athletes in Action. She graduated from Augustana University where she studied athletic training and psychology and was a basketball player for the Augustana Vikings. She calls Bismark, North Dakota home.

    Parker Settecase is on staff with the Athletes In Action Chicago Metro team. Parker wrestled at Northern Illinois University where God got ahold of his life through the Athletes In Action ministry there. Parker is married to his beautiful wife Julie and is currently working on a master's degree in Theological Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

    Amy was a Division I soccer player at Cornell University where she also was involved with Athletes in Action. She captained the varsity soccer squad her junior and senior years, was named Rookie of the Year her freshman year, and earned multiple All-Ivy honors and Athletic Academic All-American. She taught math for two years before joining Keynote, the creative arts and music ministry of Cru, where she toured and led teams as a guitarist/vocalist for over a decade. She now works as a fitness consultant and an independent certified life coach and leadership trainer/speaker with the John Maxwell Team. She coaches high level athletes to live as a “total athlete”—mind, body and soul—and helps them transition into their next career with purpose, direction and passion so they can continue to thrive.     Dr. Brandon Spradley is the Chair of Sports Management and an Associate Professor at the United States Sports Academy, a university dedicated solely to the profession of sport. He earned his doctoral degree from the United States Sports Academy in sports management and obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Alabama, where he was a track and field sprinter. He also serves as the pastor of Covenant of Grace Ministries in Mobile, Alabama. He serves with his wife, Camilla Spradley, in fulfilling the church’s vision of renewing minds and transforming lives.

    Phoebe Turner is on staff with Athletes in Action at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was a student-athlete and two time NCAA champion in women's ice hockey. She and her husband Tyler have two sons.
  • Tyler Turner
    Tyler Turner ministers to athletes with Athletes in Action at the University of Wisconsin and with AIA's Ultimate Training Camp (UTC) throughout the year. He was an All-American wrestler at UW. He likes sports, loves coffee, and adores his wife Phoebe and three young sons. Tyler is part of the Executive Team of the UTCs, directs the UTC in Minnesota, and helps oversee all four UTC locations to help athletes discover how to live and compete from a Biblical perspective.

    Ed Uszynski (PhD, Bowling Green State University) has been working with collegiate and professional athletes in various roles with Athletes in Action since 1992. Currently he serves as Executive Editor and Senior Writer for the AIA website, while also speaking nationally to college students, churches, and men’s groups on biblical Christianity. His writing includes contributions to DesiringGod.com and other online publications, along with a chapter in the four-volume C.S. Lewis: Life, Works, and Legacy (Bruce Edwards, ed.) and most recently in Sports Chaplaincy: Trends, Issues and Debates (John White, ed.). He and his wife Amy live with their four children in Xenia, OH, and speak together nationally at the Family Life Weekend to Remember Conference.   • Jonathan Van Horn
    Jonathan Van Horn is from Michigan where he grew up playing multiple sports, but decide to play soccer, the game he loved, at a Div. III school -- Ohio Wesleyan University. There he was introduced to Athletes in Action and began his journey to integrate faith into competition. Jonathan joined AIA staff in 2002 on the campus of The Ohio State University where he ministered for 4 years before transitioning to focus on soccer. Jonathan is now the Associate National Director for the Pro Soccer Ministry of Athletes in Action and serves as the team chaplain for the Carolina Railhawks of the NASL (2nd pro division) as well as oversees ministries within the NASL and USL (3rd pro division) in N. America. He now lives in Cary, NC with Rachel, his wife, and they have three daughters.
  • Monty Waldron
    Monty Waldron is a teaching pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Murfreesboro, TN, where he lives with his wife and four children. He was a gymnast at Oklahoma University, and continued to train post-college as a competitive cyclist and now Oly-distance triathlete.   • Ashley Warner
    Ashley played volleyball at Concordia University - Ann Arbor. She has been working with AIA since 2012. She lived in Mexico for two years serving as campus AIA staff. Since then she has been serving as volleyball staff at AIA's World Headquarters in Xenia, OH. She married Tyler Warner in 2015, he serves as football staff with AIA.

  • Will Whitmore
    Will Whitmore serves as the School Minister at Mercersburg Academy, where he also teaches in the history and religion departments.   • John Willkom
    John Willkom is a former Division I basketball player at Marquette University, who later earned his MBA from Loyola University Chicago. The co-founder of Playmakers Basketball, John implemented collegiate-level workouts into a basketball camp circuit and AAU program aimed at providing better opportunities to kids in the Midwest. Prior to his current role as an e-commerce executive, John worked with high school and collegiate athletic programs on the importance of proper nutrition and the development of fueling stations to enhance athletic performance. Widely recognized for his basketball passion, you can still find John coaching youth teams and playing pick-up games at a local gym. John, his wife, Allison, and their daughter, Avery, currently reside in Portland, Oregon, where John serves on the board of Portland State University’s Center for Retail Leadership.

  • K.A. Wypych
    K.A. Wypych is a Christian writer, speaker, and athlete inspiring people to courageously persevere through challenges to reach their big dreams and better their lives. She’s published articles and multiple devotionals. Ms. Wypych is currently under contract with Ambassador International to publish her book entitled Ten Iron Principles. The book is a non-fiction Christian living memoir about perseverance and salvation through playing football on a boys’ junior varsity team and her road to the Ironman triathlon.   • Reza Zedah
    Reza Zedah was born in Abadan, Iran and grew up in Southern California. While a student athlete at Colorado State University Reza converted from Islam to Christianity and eventually found himself as a local church pastor for 12 years. Reza graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary and is now the Colorado Front Range Director for Atheltes in Action. He and his wife, Allyson have 3 kids and serve the Denver Broncos players and wives as chaplains. Their family loves exploring the Colorado outdoors, impacting their local community and investing in Jesus’ work in the lives of people around the world.
