32 "But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."
Luke 22:32 (NIV)
Isn't it great to know that Jesus speaks prayers like this, praying for others that their faith would not fail. And of all the things we could pray about for others, perhaps this is best too. I know I want prayers like this prayed for me. It feels so fundamentally sound.
People who receive prayers like this get strengthened! And when they do, Jesus issues the command to leverage the faith-rise by strengthening others. Then the effect of such prayers gets multiplied.
Athlete, how do you pray for others? Fundamentally like this? You want prayers like this prayed for you? Strengthening your brothers as you've been strengthened?
Make prayer fundamental, not supplemental. Pray that faith would not fail. Faith gets lifted and men get strengthened when we do.
