Ted St. Martin is a basketball phenom. He holds the world record for consecutive free throws made: 5,221, set on April 28, 1996, in seven hours and 20 minutes. It took Ted an amazing number of attempts before he failed, but eventually he did.
Here's something even more amazing: in a world full of failed attempts and unfulfilled promises, the Bible comes up with lines like this one. Could it be true? If it is, we'd be wise to take all of what God says seriously and move forward in confidence based upon every other promise He has made.
Failure is not in God's vocabulary, but unfailing is. Unfailing abides at the very core of His nature. Appreciate, even revere this about God's character and then trust, obey and follow Him with everything you've got. Athlete, bet your life on Him. He can't miss!
