5 "Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is in you. If not, you have failed the test of genuine faith."

A playoffs climb following a long season, facing fresh failure, confronting bad news, pushing through a rough patch... All these moments call for a gut check. It brings an athlete in front of the mirror and asks hard questions. 'Do I have what it takes to keep going? What do I see IN me? Is there genuine faith?'
When I am prompted, convicted, guided, enlightened, trusting God at His word and obeying, Christ is in me and my faith is alive and well. I see clearly and sense deeply. Knowing about Christ will not produce this genuine faith. Knowing Christ, being IN Him and Him IN me, will! Faith stands the test when we stand in Christ, when He's in us.
Athlete, wherever life has you, take a good look in the faith mirror. Do a spiritual gut check. Take the test. May Christ be found IN you, alive and well.
