Athlete, Work On Those Handles

Work On Those Handles

13  "We failed to ask God how to move it properly."

1 Chronicles 15:13 (NIV)

Learning how to handle something, to move things along, is important. In sports this translates to offensive and defensive possessions, how we care for the ball and execute a game plan. Turnovers and takeaways define the outcome of the game so often. Possessions hold great power. In life, how we touch, hold, approach something matters. Learning the right touch becomes crucial.

God wants to be included in how we handle things, how we move things along. He is not just interested in destination but in the journey. He evaluates the process because that's also so critical, not just the outcome.

Don't fail to ask Him how to handle things. Faithfully approach Him. He says He will perfect that which concerns us and grant wisdom to all when they ask. (Psalm 138:8 and James 1:5).

Athlete, don’t buy into the lie that you need to do it on your own. Ask God how to move things along. Let Him coach your 'handles' every day.
