13 "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.”
1 John 5:13 (ESV)
The life philosophy that “you only live once” is pretty dumb. It is self-centered. It is vain. Most importantly, it is not true.
1 John 5:13 says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.”
Athlete, in Christ you have eternal life. It is a life that began at your spiritual birth and extends forever into the future, long after your earthly body dies. That means you have the opportunity – no, the calling – to invest in the spiritual lives of people around you instead of just pursuing material possessions or trophies. The overwhelming majority of your life will be spent in glory with your heavenly Father. The Bible actually refers to our time on earth as dew that is here in the morning and gone in the afternoon. Which time period are you living for? Invest eternally today. Invest in others.
