11,12 "This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him."
Ephesians 3:11-12 (NASB)
Athletes in every sport get excited about meeting prominent people — entertainers, musicians, Hall of Fame athletes and coaches, Navy SEALs and politicians. They are attracted to others’ accomplishments, talents and influence. Athletes jump at the opportunity to meet someone backstage at a concert.
Have you given serious thought about what it means to personally stand before the throne of God? The word “access” in Ephesians 3 refers to “one who secures an audience with a sovereign.” Christ has secured our access to God Himself. He is delighted by your presence.
None of the famous and prominent people of our culture is as accessible as the God of the universe. No one is as concerned about your life as He is. If you have put your trust in Christ and have a relationship with Him, you can confidently and boldly approach Him. If you sense things are not right in your relationship with Him, He welcomes that conversation to make things right.
God offers an invitation: “Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it, the Lord is His name, 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'” Jeremiah 33:2-3 (NASB)
This is no ordinary meeting. This is a meeting with the One who holds the galaxies of the universe in order, formed you in your mother's womb and sent His Son to die so you could live. God has proven His concern for your life.
If you want to hear from Him in this meeting, bring your Bible along. That is where He speaks. Ask Him to make His Word clear as you read. Unload your concerns.
As you read, identify what is being said — a promise, a command, an action to take. What does He ask you to trust Him with?
Devotionals are good motivators. Go get your personal time with the Sovereign One.
