Athlete, You will be Unstoppable

You will be Unstoppable

38,39  “‘Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.’”

Acts 5:38,39 (NIV)

What makes a person truly unstoppable? Is it brute force, great intellect or deft skill? Maybe. Is it clear charm or unbridled passion?

I believe there’s more to it.

Legendary coach Bob Knight postured something else. Here’s his take: “The most dangerous man in a fight is the one who doesn’t care if he lives or dies.“ Coach Knight is rather right. Total abandon and absolute fearlessness certainly factor into unstoppability.

Today’s Scripture points to one other, even better way unstoppable living is launched: when our purpose or activity is from God. A “better together” with Him drives it. That way carries an unexpiring, unstoppable guarantee.

When God drives one’s purpose, that one becomes unstoppable. When God moves us, our moves become powerful beyond measure. Purpose and activity driven by God is unstoppable.

Human purposes and activities at their best have a way of winding down. They can’t be sustained. Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall.

But divine purpose and activity cannot be stopped. So it’s wisest and best to plug in here.

Reflect: How much of your life purpose is informed and driven by God? How much does He factor in?

Assess your daily regimen. How much of your time/attention/activity actually goes to God or is from God? What can you do to better factor in His purposes and activities daily?

A prayer to consider: Unstoppable LORD Jesus, keep me moving with You, for You. Stop my shallow, often selfish, worthless pursuits. Keep showing me Your purposes and plans.

May I run hard in the path of Your commands, for You broaden my understanding (Psalm 119:32). May Your worth and Your kingdom continuously pour through my labor. Amen.
