25-27 “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.”
Proverbs 4:25-27 (ESV)
In team sports, everyone has a purpose or a role in which he or she plays for the betterment of the team. Your role may be to lead the team in points or rebounds. Another’s role may be to guard the other team’s best player.
Somebody’s role may be to bring positivity to practice or encouragement in competition. Nonetheless, once we are a member of a team, we all play a role in the team’s overall success.
Similarly, when we become a part of the kingdom of God, we all have a purpose, a mission, or an assignment that God wants us to carry out. Our purpose is unique and specifically designed for us.
We play a critical role in the overall success of the body of Christ. This is why the enemy will do everything in his power to hinder us from fulfilling our purpose.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:11 (NASB), “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” The devil always has “tricks up his sleeve” that are designed to distract us from fulfilling our purpose.
This devotional is simply to remind you to stay focused. Regardless of what the enemy throws at you, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Through it all, continue to move forward and make progress in fulfilling God’s will over your life.
Below are three categories that can affect your progress in the will of God. I encourage you to read the Word of God so you can identify the problems in your life and implement the appropriate solutions.
