God may Change Your Plans

9  “The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9 (New American Standard Bible)

Bernard James dropped out of high school at the age of 16. He earned his GED and joined the United States Air Force when he was 17. While well on his way to a career in the military, he began playing on an intramural basketball team at his base.

Though he had no interest in playing basketball growing up, playing basketball on this team eventually led to him playing Division I college basketball at Florida State University at the age of 25, then being drafted to play in the NBA by the age of 27.

This was an unconventional path to the NBA, to say the least. No matter the road that led James to his unexpected destination as an NBA player, that is where God ordained for him to be.

God has a unique plan for each of us. The road to your purpose may not look like anyone else’s.

You may not have the background, skill set, or advantages that you believe are required to be successful in certain areas. You may have already chosen a path for your life and now feel pulled in another direction.

You may not feel equipped to be financially stable, to break generational curses, or achieve the dream that is now suddenly emerging in your heart, but God does not function in our natural logic.

He is a God of divine favor who will blow our minds with His plans for us if we will only give ourselves over to Him. May our will for our lives and God’s will for our lives agree.
