“The Lord has put me on this great platform, and I want to use it the right way,” Aaron Judge told me before a game in Cleveland. We spoke about social media and why he chooses to use it to be open about his faith for everyone to notice.

Aaron’s Twitter page sends a crystal-clear message. When you look at his account profile, you have no doubt where he stands. It reads “Christian. Faith. Family. Then baseball.” His picture displays 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Aaron, an outfielder for the New York Yankees, grew up in a Christian home in California, and he was taught the right way. Still, he had to make his own decision to follow Christ, which he did at a young age and has never looked back. He maintains a humble attitude and displays a readiness to help anyone, especially his teammates.

To him, his job with the winningest team in MLB history is a blessing and a way for him to tell the masses about the love of Jesus Christ.

“Any way I can spread the Word of God and get the message out there is a wonderful thing,” he said. “I feel that is why I am where I am today.”

He realizes thousands of eyes are on him and doesn’t mind the extra attention. “If I go 0-4 at the plate, it’s still a great day for me because I play for the best organization in baseball, and I’m a child of the King,” he said.

Are you ready to tell the world you are a Christian? Do you possess a desire to make a bold and spiritual profession and let others know you are a Christian?

Make it a priority to let the world know you are a Christian – just as Aaron does. Here are some tips.

• Be friendly to those you meet. Extend a kind word to whomever you meet whether it be at the mall or the grocery store.
• Engage others. Once the ice has been broken, invite them to a church function or tell them about a Christian meeting.
• Use social media like Aaron does. He puts his faith out there for everyone to see. Your tweets don’t always have to be spiritual, but avoid posting those which might be questionable or harm your reputation.

You may not have the enormous platform Aaron has, but rest assured there are eyes on you too.

It doesn’t matter if you are at Yankee Stadium or a small grocery store. Demonstrate an indisputable witness for Christ and make a difference wherever you are.
