Athletes in Action is excited to announce the launching of a new podcast by our sport-ministry partners, Sports Spectrum. The podcast will delve beneath the surface of sports culture by interviewing those that make it happen. Here is the press release:
On Friday, March 31st, Sports Spectrum will be launching the Sports Spectrum Podcast with host Jason Romano. Romano, who comes to Sports Spectrum with nearly two decades of production experience at ESPN, will be speaking with some of the most influential people at the intersection of sports and faith. This podcast is the culmination of many years of planning, dreaming, and preparation on all sides.
“I’ve been praying for a long time, wanting to be part of a podcast that shares the stories of where sports and faith connect. I’m so grateful that prayer has become a reality.” —Jason Romano, Host and Producer, Sports Spectrum Podcast
“In today’s world, you have to meet the audience where they are and you have to produce content that is worthy of their time. We truly feel that this podcast has been a divine appointment and we pray that many will grow spiritually through the lessons that the players and Jason bring to light” —Raymond St. Martin, Director of Digital and Media, The Increase and Sports Spectrum
The inaugural Sports Spectrum Podcast will feature an interview with Miami Marlins pitcher Adam Conley and team chaplain Chris Lane. Adam and Chris share their story of the impact that was made on the players, coaches, and front-office personnel when Jose Fernández died unexpectedly last season. This is a story that, until now, has not seen the light. While the team was mourning, God was at work in the clubhouse through Adam and Chris.
Week two will feature a sit-down with Pastor Matt Chandler and former NFL quarterback and current ESPN personality, Matt Hasselbeck.
